Frilly, Funkie and very, very Dusty...

Evening Easter Greetings to everyone!
Here in England it's Easter, the school hols and a Bank Holiday Monday weekend so hopefully some of you will get some rest. Whether it's a celebration of faith, family time or even a DIY time (all three here!) here's to a great weekend, a little more sunshine and, go on then, chocolate...
I wanted to create a special card for my auntie and there's also lots of new kid on the block challenges, so the perfect reason to spend a few hours in my inky zone... and 'old school' vintage moods.
I've had this wooden Inkadinkadoo stamp for years and still think it's such a lovely image, especially as we are looking from behind, wondering what words are being whispered. I inked up Manila cardstock with Rusty Hinge and Weathered Wood Distress Inks, flicked on some water, stamped the image, masked and stamped the script...
Then my favourite... lots of shabby layers, torn edges, lace and stitching... and a stamped sentiment.
My old Design Team buddy Linda has launched the fabulous Frilly and Funkie challenge... Obviously I'm being frilly with my words... and WOYWW? friend Neet is in full flow with the great Artful Times where it's tags. I got me one there peeking out! Thirdly, sparkly new Unruly Paper Arts is about getting inky...
My card is standing proud on the freshly sanded floor - all thanks to my all shook up and be-goggled super dusty hubby...

Time to head off into the dust dunes and empty the next room. Sigh.
Loving you and leaving you until Monday, Sarah.

Hello Sarah
I am just loving this creation, I love all your work but this I especially love, your bold DI with the subtle image is a WOW, then you extend further and add a Vintage appeal with your stick pin, lace button etc.
Wonderfully constructed card.

Hi Sarah,
I love this stamp - and the thought of what is being said between the lovers.

What is the font on the sentiment? I need to learn how to write like that!!

Hugs,
Kay

This is my favorite "vintage Sarah" style. You do some amazing and inspiring work, but this is the style that first attracted me to your art and what I find so appealing - your signature color palette, wonderful layers and random stitching plus all your fab bits and bobs that you bring in. That is such an intriguing image too, just really pulls you in.

So great to see your entry in the Frilly and Funkie line up this time around. Thanks so much for joining in the fun with us and hope you will be a regular visitor to our site.

Easter blessings to you, my friend!

Hugs,
Linda

Sarah, this card is so gorgeous. I love all of the distressed edges and the layering of papers that you do so fantastically. The colors are amazing and so are all of the little details that you add to each and every piece that you do. The stitching looks fab, too. Beautiful card...really it's more a piece of art than a card. <3 Candy
