Good Morning Wednesday,
And a big hello to you too! My awaycation has become a staycation as I'm back home a week early. Hubby's back is not playing along and the Dutch rain delivered exactly what it said on the box (continual and wet), so homebound it was. Not plan A or B, but now back at Chez Funny Farm, we are like two contented OAPs adept in the art of pottering around. And very nice indeedily it is...
The goodies here are from a quick trip to Worcester today. The huge Dutch holiday haul of new stash multiplied daily and has already been filed and sorted. Second mortgage is pending...
Did a big unpack and clear-up day before hitting the crafty space which was a smart move because now it really feels like playtime. Took quite a while to get going yesterday and find the right path again, but the fingers did so want to play, so I fiddled and faffed with lots of different elements and layers which came together to create a hanging.
Enjoyed losing myself in vintage tones and Wendy Vecchi art. I think her work has a kind of American folk art feel to it, but it's also quirky and detailed too. So I feel it challenges and feeds my creativity in all the right places!
It started off as a card following the challenge guidelines from Lori's EWV group but it was needing more oomph and depth, so the hanging invented itself. Stamping, Art Parts, Clearly for Art, inks, dimension and layers really put me back en route! I created a little house and garden and just went to town mixing up the patterns and textures. Took a lot of rearranging and contemplation but it's good to really feel the brain ticking over. You don't have to get it right first time!
Don't forget August's My Mojo Monthly Challenge. Many of you are hoping to join in. Ooh, please do! I'd love to see what ya got!
Thanks too for such a great response last week. Sigh...I wish I could give you all a parcel of Dutch lovelies. The winners are Kissinia and Gabrielle. Well done girls!
So there we go, another week back on the ranch. Do join in the WOYWW desk-hop and nosey around...brain-wave of our Star Hostess Julia! It's fun, free, frantic and fab. Thank you again for taking some time to be here. Do enjoy your visit, drop me a line and have a great week too.
Adios...
Sarah.

Lovely hanging and I do so like the butterflys.
What a very sweet door hanging. Love all these colours and the stamps you have used... but you know that already. These transparent floors and butterfly makes it totally compleet.

Love that Sarah - the WVecchi art being used in other ways than on grunge with DIs, really shows up what a useful addition to my collection it could be!! Sorry about the weather in Holland - we too are prone to giving up and coming home; hope the following week at home is fun and better for the back. Poor boy.

Aww Sarah, what a shame the weather wasn’t kind to you and you had to come home early but I agree that sometimes enough is enough and you have to give in to the inevitable. At least you had some nice new goodies to play with when you got home so I hope that helped to take your mind off the disappointment.
Loving the wallhanging!
Happy Crafting!

A gorgeous hanging, love all the layers and earthy colours. Congrats to the two lucky winners. Enjoy. xx
Can't believe there's somewhere else on earth wetter than England in the summertime! Shame you had to come home early but I really like a few days at home with free time to get on with stuff once in a while. Hope the poor boys back gets better, I'm another one in that category too so I, quite literally, feel his pain too! Beautiful hanging, really like it.

Sorry to hear that your husband's back is no better and the holiday was cut short ... however, as one of those OAPs you liken yourself too ... there's a lot to be said for staycations and pottering :) When I was working I booked myself a week every year to do just that! Oh, the freedom from the daily grind ... I wallowed in it. Your wall-hanging is gorgeous and the butterfly is beyond gorgeous. Now, you've got my fingers itching and I've got your Mojo post open ...
