What's on your workdesk Wednesday?
Back from beyond, from where and for how long, is anyone's guess... They say you cannot add a single second to your life by worrying, but I am doing my best to prove otherwise. I have indeed been very AWOL from WOYWW? Very AWOL. I've had bit of a rough time at home with baby Ruby and new mummy life. I feel like I have been living on another planet and stuck in a time warp. I could write a book, but will I save you all from the tales of many tears and woe.
In a nutshell baby Ruby's feeding and weight gain issues have been one major 24/7 roller-coaster ride and we would now really like to get off please.Turns out it was all down to a restricted tongue that doesn't want to play along making it very difficult for my wee girl to suck. An operation was planned until further examinations proved it would be too risky and unlikely to improve the situation. So back to popping, clicking and dribbling with a bottle. But we, and 100 bibs a day, are getting there and now we just want to move forward and get our lives back. No matter how many nice things folk say to a new mum, how many other mums you meet, you worry and doubt. Obsessively. All the time. About everything.
So, as you can imagine ye olde craft table is feeling a little rejected and I have had to postpone a fair amount of design work and guest spots just to create some breathing space, be nice to myself and gain a grasp on reality again. Can't wait to start again soon, just awaiting the return of some of my sanity
Nevertheless, there are a few sparks of inkyness. I have an article on Scrap Cards in October's Craft Stamper. I even made the cover...Now of course you are all going to run out and buy a copy but just in case the floods hold you back and your Ark isn't ready I have a spare copy up for grabs. Yesterday I had a great morning out with my girl. We just wandered into town, had a cuppa (and a bottle) together and did some people-watching.

Miss Ruby is just precious, I hope feeding time get's easier for you both, I have a nearly 15 month old who is still breastfeed I've tried bottles and nope she just refuses so scrapbooking retreats or nights away for me aren't happening until she stop's....

Miss Ruby is beautiful and you never stop worrying. My daughter is in her thirties and I cried when I saw her in so much pain when she had her baby boy. You never want your children to suffer. Keep going, you are doing an amazing job...just look at her:)

Aw hun that sounds rough, hope it all gets sorted so you can all feel normal again. You're right though it doesn't matter what others say you still worry, I do and my baby is nearly 14! This is a beautiful photo and says so much Sarah, a very happy baby Ruby and a lovely, caring Mum who both enjoy being together.
Life will sort itself out, so will your crafting and babies grow so quickly into toddlers and then into children and then to adults. Try to enjoy this precious time, I know you have things to worry about, but Mums tend to worry at this stage.
I love your work, you are an exceptionally creative person and that will live with you forever.

What a lovely photo of you and Miss Ruby and great that you have been able to get out and have some normal time together.
It must be such a worry if she's not feeding properly and very tiring for you both. I hope things get steadily better. Just be reassured that you never stop worrying however old they get, it's perfectly normal and all part of the Mum contract!!

Oh my, Ruby just gets cuter by the week! I - and I'm sure just about every other mum - can totally empathise with your worrying and doubting. Being a mum is fabulous but no-one ever tells you beforehand how much it will make you doubt and second-guess yourself and worry whether you are doing the right thing for your little one.
Sounds like things are improving now, which is good to hear. Glad you are able to start enjoying each other again. (((hugs)))

It is easy to say "don't worry" but so difficult to actually not worry--all new mommies can relate to this. But you can try to imagine what you will feel like when she is all healed from this, and how good it will feel as she grows and progresses. P.S. my son was diagnosed with acid re-flux or under developed stomach. I had to go back to work and child care accused me of not taking care of him because he constantly threw up his feedings. I know the worry! Take care!
