Well, hello and many rare and fine mid-week greetings to all WOYWWers and any passers-by. This is the day of the ever popular show and tell phenomenon known as "What's on your workdesk Wednesday?" It's free, no holds barred and all dress codes are excepted (hooray as I'm in my Pj's) all hosted by Divine Desk Diva herself Mrs. Dunnit. Spill the beans on your crafty oasis, mine-field or disaaahhhster and give us all a peek.
Although 'just for me' inky time is almost extinct I decided to run upstairs whilst Little Missy Ruby was dozing and attack a few pages of my oh so forlorn art journal. I was trying to think about Autumn and how it's a transitional season and how that relates to me at this point in time... I've only got this far as I has a brain blank and starting thinking of food and baby stuff instead. Not very artistic but true.
I have found a bit more time to enjoy creating a DT project for Simon Says Stamp & Show (well, in between diaper duty and cuddles - which always seem to occur at my most inkiest moments). I can only show you a sneak preview for now, more in two weeks... My crafting, sleeping, cleaning, thinking and swimming are slightly adrift to say the least... and here's why.
Ruby. Sixteen weeks and a full-time bag of beans. Here she is in mid bounce in new her Jumperoo. It's a shame they don't make adult versions of it as I would like to have just half as much fun as she does in it. Thank you so much to everyone for being so encouraging and leaving me such kind words and thoughts last time. We are both on the right road at last, I look forward to each new day and I can pat myself on the back too. That sure feels good. Thanks for calling by, see you when we see you is the best parting phrase at the mo...
Adios, Sarah.
Oh, Ruby is a joy and I canot believe it's 16 weeks since she arrived. Such a lovely happy smile.
ReplyDeleteShe certainly steals the show but I must say that your art work is looking good too1

Ruby is adorable and they grow up soooo fast! Zip and they're in college! So savor every minute of it, do! I spent a lot of time scrapbooking my son's every new word, step, funny moments, conversations, and even if he's 16 he still loves to look through his scrapbook and even show his friends! :^) Patsy from

That last paragraph fills my heart with joy..so glad that you are feeling better about everything. The early stages of babyhood, esp first time, are a haze of worry, love, guilt, love, etc etc but look at your gorgeous little girl, she's a peach!! And your crafting's not bad either, lol!!

PS It would have been fab to see you at the crop - another time maybe??!
What an awesome picture of Ruby! Love that beautiful smile. Getting inky always takes second place those first months but it does get better soon. Looking forward to seeing your PIW soon. Vickie #41
ReplyDeleteI see your artwork on FB and so am not as deprived as some of shots of your stuff - which continues to be fantastic..am loving the colours in your journal.. But of course, Ruby is the scene stealer - she's absolutely gorgeous and see her thrive, how wonderful. Fab to see you - glad you had five minutes...me and LLJ talk of you often.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, nice to see your desk again, the pages are looking good and love the sneak peek of the Wendy Art Parts, can't wait to see that finished article!
ReplyDeleteBit of a cliche with Ruby, but these things just take time, but now that haze has lifted you can enjoy each other fully - you will have the most wonderful time and I am sure you will enjoy every precious moment. Crafty hugs, Anne x
Sorry, my number is 60, just got carried away... A x

Your daughter is GORGEOUS and I'm very impressed you even know what day it is after 16 weeks of sleep deprivation torture. And loving the sneak peak!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are managing a bit of crafting time - it has such a positive boost I think. Not that you need it - such a lovely end to your post and little Ruby will have put a smile on everyone's face today - thanks for sharing. x Jo
ReplyDeleteDoesn't time fly? Ruby is a real little girl now and so pretty. I'd spend all day looking at her and no crafting would ever get done.
ReplyDeleteLate this week so number 118 - how did that happen?

What an enchanting smile - and while the sneak peeks and pages look lovely and exciting, I would think that she's worth missing out on that for a while! Happy WOYWW!

I would also be distracted if i had this cute miss Ruby in my home!!
ReplyDeleteShe's happy Mum, so you are doing it right!!!! Being a parent is the hardest job in the world, none can compare! I am so glad things are better for you both, and that you've had some time to craft! She absolutely gorgeous and very healthy!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't do WOYWW this week, but had to stop by and get my Ruby fix! Look at how bright and shinning her eyes are, she was having a blast in that jumper thing! lol I can't believe how big she is getting and I am so glad to hear things things are improving for you! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteLittle Miss Ruby is as precious as her name! I would imagine that her infectious smile is your constant source of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteJust imagine when she gets a bit older, you will have an inky buddy to help you explore the wonderful world of creativity.
I can so clearly remember when my adult son and daughter, ages 27 and 24, would craft along side me as toddlers. Today, the creative process is an enormous part of their lives and their careers.
The gift of imagination and the ability to create is the greates gift that we can give our precious children!
Thank you for always being a source of inspiration in my life.
Hi Sarah, great to see you had a little inky time, loving the sneak peaks and oh my Ruby has the most adorable smile. x
ReplyDeleteooh, she is lovely....and a good reason not to be in the first spot on WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteLoving your DT makes as usual and looking forward to seeing how the journal page progresses.

Oh that girl is thriving with a capital T! And lololol on an adult bouncy seat. If we could get the pleasure the babes get from those, the world would be a much more fun loving place!
