Well, last week I was all colour and funky tones, but I must admit that the wet days and early dark nights along with that nip in the air have had an effect on me. This week at Simon Says Stamp & Show we are all "LEAFTASTIC!!!!" Yes, Autumn and October are well and truly upon us and so I allowed the tones of the falling leaves and fading foliage to inspire my make for this week's new challenge theme.
Most visitors to my blog already know I am a real sucker for anything Wendy Vecchi so it didn't take long to get into my own Arty Party thing and start layering up the pieces....
l love the Art Parts Leaves set and have used them on so many of my pieces... and every time they do it for me. This week I thought these leaves would be the ideal wings for my mannequin and that was the inspiration and starting point for my piece. The rest just followed as I played around with all the other Art Parts goodies.
I always say that Wendy's larger stamps are a really good buy and are
just so versatile. I seem to find a way to use them again and again.
Just mix and match the patterns, numbers and letters... ! They all look fabulous together.
I used Distress Stains to colour my pieces before stamping which is so quick and easy. The larger rectangle piece is first covered in design paper and then stamped as I really wanted a bit more contrast from a lighter tone before stamping. I thought the combination of circles and straight lines worked really
well and a few touches of Idea-ology really helped finish the piece off.
With the help of Glossy Accents and foam pads I was able to layer up
the pieces to create the dimension I love.
Have you tried Art Parts yet? Then now is the time to check them out! Take a look at all the fab creations from my team mates over at the Design Team Blog and be inspired to create your own leafy art. Get inky and be in with a chance of this great $50 spree! Righteo, I must flutter away and swap the ink pad for nappy duty for a while... Have a creative, inspired and warm week.
See you all soon.
Sarah.
