The weather has become decidedly dark and dreary so I thought a bright tag and a touch of the shiny stuff would be a good start to the week. Like me, you probably have a few pots of Perfect Pearls lurking in your stash. I always forget how they can add such a great effect to so many projects. I really need to dig them out more often!
Here I used yellow and white paint on the flower and Distress Stain on the stem. Job done! My background tag had been coloured with Distress Stains, then dried thoroughty before stamping the circles in embossing ink. You must dry well beforehand so that the Perfect Pearls powder will only adhere to the stamping and not the whole tag.
I followed with the stamping of the letters and flowers in Cobalt Archival ink...yes, more Wendy goodies and then I added the stitching and distressing the edges. I used the same stamps on the bigger tag with a touch of Vermilion Archival ink for contrast.
The butterflies are created by stamping onto Grungepaper, cutting out and then applying a rough coat of gesso. I over-stamped the dots and edged them in Distress ink. I just wanted the shape of the butterfly and like to do this with a lot of my other stamps when the outline is simple...get more mileage out of your stash! I layered it all up added some rustic string and touches of Idea-ology before finishing off with my stamped thought for the day!
I might end up mounting it onto a card base (if I ever find time...) as I think it would make a great greeting card... and I really need to do something with all those tags. Know what I mean????
Anyway, that's my creation for today. Please hop over to Simon says Stamp & Show Design Team Blog and see all the fabulous ideas my teamies came up with. Then start on your own beauty, link it up and make a play for this oh so generous prize!!!
Hasta...uhm...whenever!
