A Rather Sticky Matter....

Monday Greetings to you all! I'll dive right in with the new challenge theme over at Simon Says Stamp & Show! where we are all in the mood for tape... It's one of those things that is rather the height of fashion at the mo, and great fun whether you are into cards, art-journalling, mixed media projects or scrapbooking, so get sticky and join in the fun.
l always like to create my "own" take on stuff as well as enjoying all the fab ready-to-go products out there, so I decided to rustle up my own custom created take on tape.
Years ago when taking my first steps into the crafty world, I started out with card-making and to this day I still get a lot of pleasure out of it... Even with a simple card I still like to play around with design, colour and composition.
l took a sheet of A4 paper from my sketch pad and created a master-board using a variety of stamps and bottle tops. Don't be too fussy... just splat, stamp, flick and splodge, as you will soon be chopping it all up! You can do this with ANY of your stamps and inks, in ANY style you fancy, so just grab and go...
Then I attached strips of Scor-Tape to the other side starting at the one edge so as to get a good straight line when lining them up. It was very quick and easy to do and it also provides you with a guide when cutting. I used a paper trimmer for speed but you could use scissors too.
l decided to edge them with a little Distress Ink and then tore different lengths to create the background block of tape. I like how the pattern is totally random as it creates interesting results!
l then over-stamped the Urban Chic images in bold Black Archival ink and added a sentiment from Stuff to Say in Ranger's Plum Archival Ink which I love. The heart didn't come out quite so well as the butterflies, but I'm working on my perfectionism... so I let it be. I finished off with, yes, stitching and some Distressed edges and was all done.
Tape is a versatile and fun plaything! Just take a look at the amazing spread of fab ideas from my teamies on the Design Blog here! You'll love them. Remember there's also this fabulous shopping spree to be won along with the chance of being crowned with the Top Three Title. I had great fun creating this week, how about you? Well, I'm off as new mummy duty is a 24/7 thing. It's time for a 5 day weekend methinks! Thanks for calling by. See you soon.
Sarah.
