Welcome to the mid-week flaunt of my inky zone thanks to Mrs Dunnit who always does it...and good too! Feel free to show a crafty leg on the 'What's on your Workdesk Wednesday?' catwalk.
Last week, (fanfare), I did the whole shebang of 199 desks! It's great to pop by everyone, have a nose and meet all the new folk.
Just one very pretty please from me. Do consider removing word verification, or swapping to comment approval if you worry about spam. I have no eyesight problems but all those words, codes, loading time and jaberwocky. Boy, they are some hurdle. (Youtube help here) Thank you!
Anyway, the above was the 'just getting started' mess which has since bred and lost all sense of decorum. Can't believe it was all for an ATC and a few cards... but here's the pay-off!
It's my second week guesting at Gingersnap Creations where we are dabbling with faux techniques.
I could have offered my housework skills but went for faux batik instead. See Mr. Tim in action for the tecchy low-down. I decided to go for more unusual colours than I normally do...
I used Wild Honey to emboss the lace, the blue is a blend of Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky Distress Inks. I mainly used the Floral Tattoo stamp set, plus a Tim phrase and his birds, over stamping in the same blues and Sepia and Coffee archival ink. I emphasised the heart by layering a second clear embossed one on top of the original. When I first saw the yellow I nearly ran away, but I worked on the colours and now I love it and am also going to join in with Grungy Monday and Sunday Stampers.
A little confession, it's been two weeks since my last Less is More. Do forgive me.
This week it's stripes so I dug out my Glitz balloon stamp which I lurve, but really don't use enough. I love one layer cards because the fresh imprint of ink on white card still gets me excited! I used Ranger Vermillion Archival ink which is a great red and ink to work with. Now obviously, there are stripes on them fine balloons there...
But I also went a bit further with the theme adding scored diagonal lines...
Then onto my trusty 99p peg stamps and Cobalt blue using the lines as 'support', all done on SU Confetti card.
Just a reminder that it's a HEARTS theme over at my inspiration challenge My Mojo Monthly. Got some crafty LOVE to share this month? Then do join in February's journey!
Enough card capers...time to love you and leave you and say big thanks to everyone who calls by. I might not reach the 199 this week but I am up for a fair mooch around!
Au revoir...Sarah et le/la bump.
I like your desk..it looks so busy! ) And the cards are great, especially first one! :)

Love looking at the wonderful projects on your desk. Really interesting technique you have used on the card, I will have to look it up. It always amazed me how a simple creation can result in an avalanche of product.
ReplyDeleteWhat a busy desk! Great cards you showed! I also love the white background under the ink. Dani28
ReplyDeleteLove everything, your work is wonderful! And I agree with you and Julia, that I wish everyone would turn off their word verification, especially since blogger changed it and it's even more tedious! Ya'll are getting a jumpstart on me for WOYWW but mine will be up tomorrow! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
ReplyDeleteLovely work as always on your desk this week. Hope you are taking care of you.
ReplyDeleteAgree about the word verification but I would also like numbers to be put on - even if they change they are usually close by. Helps when you are trying to comment on those who have commented on yours. Especially if some peeps have several blogs.
Take care - Hugs, Neet 29 xx

ReplyDeleteLove all your CS stuff too!

You have been busy and I love that balloon stamp... I would be totally addicted to that one, but my favourite is the heart at the bottom... love that... and I hear you on the word verification... by the time I have done a few I find myself spelling them rather creatively... hopeless I am... happy woyww...xx

ReplyDeleteFirstly. DH was bowled over by the map heart card which I used for Valentine's Day - seriously, he absolutely loved it!! Thank you so much for being a generous soul :)
ReplyDeleteThe background of the wishes card looks like what you probably see in your mind's eye when you actually make a wish - it's captured the moment perfectly!
Hope you and The Bump are well and happy!

Beautiful cards, as usual Sarah and what an achievement - all 199 desks, bet your bum was numb after that. I managed about half of them but aim for more this week.

ReplyDeleteNow that's my kinda of desk lol .. i always say Messy = Creativity and you certainly have loads of that, fab Faux Batik. I like whatcha did with the Balloon stamp too:)
ReplyDeleteYou visited 199 of us?! I'm impressed. There are so many I hate to miss out but didn't have the time. Anyway... oh my, how is it that making one little thing can make such a mess? It is crazy how that works. Your balloon card is so much fun, what a neat detail the score lines. The grungy card is quite neat too. You got the yellow to work in there well but I can see how it could have been too bold to start.
ReplyDeleteOh wow you were just a busy busy girl. I am in love with heart. it is really cool.
ReplyDeleteI really love the balloon card, it's beautiful! Mind you, so are the other ones too:)
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
