Cute as a button...!

Hello Monday! Do not adjust your screens - yes a cute flowery owl!  The new challenge theme over at Simon Says Stamp & Show is all about buttons and for some unknown reason Wendy Vecchi's Blossom Bucket flowers and a sewing bug got partnered up in my craft room.
I had some unbleached calico 'in stock' and decided it would be fun to create my own custom stamped fabric. I grabbed a selection of delightfully girly ink pads and set about stamping my fabric.
I don't usually do much with purple but it was a nice contrast with the blue with a touch of Spiced Marmalade dots! Once all stamped, I drew my own owl pattern onto paper, cut it out and got stitching! Then I spent a while playing around with the eyes, decided how 'owly' to make them! Don't you love the flowery stare?
I thought a little belly was a nice contrast so I stamped a little extra fabric in a different design, added some zig-zagging and ironed it to the front piece using Bond-a Web.
Will I ever create a project and not add a word? It seems not, but this twit-twoo is seemd just perfect! I'm not quite sure if this chubby fellow will fly far... but then again, he feels quite at home perching on my kitchen shelf at the moment!
Girly, cute and lots of inky fun indeed... and why not? That was my tongue in cheek take on this weeks button theme. What will yours be??? Take a look at how the rest of the Design Team played around with the challenge here!

We are on the hunt for our top three artists and there is this very generous $50 voucher to be won too. Do join in and share your buttons and creativity with us.

Right, I must twit-twoo away myself... I've got a very busy baby that needs to vent at playgroup!  Thanks so much  for dropping by. Enjoy your week!
Sarah.
