Hello Again!
Welcome to my desk in action, inky ramblings and WOYWW? If you're up for a mid week flash of your crafty happenings and fancy joining in head over to our Fairy Blogmother Julia and link up! I am almost done with reinstating my crafty space to it's former glory and am back on home ground in this shot.
I did take a few pics of my room but the sun-rays were so uber-bright it looked more like a TV Ad for floor polish so I will try again next week...
I, like half the world and his wife it seems, am doing the on-line course from Mr. T. Holtz. I'm sure there are many fan crazed damsels that would sign up even if he was only showing you how to toast bread...
But hype and stalkers aside.... it really is a fabulous course with oodles of tips, techniques and very worthwhile product information.Today was all about heat embossing, different powders and stuff...
I learnt quite a bit really and so here is my trio of taggy homework...
Starting out with quite a Grungy blue take on Rusted Enamel.
Then onto the next...with the Nostalgic Batik Technique.
Oooh yes, there are posh names and all...
I really love this frame stamp but I like to turn it on it's side as it then reminds me of a mirror which is quite fitting for the sentiment.
Also a little bit more colour...and the birdies which I still lurve.
A blend of Wild Honey, Broken China and Shabby Shutters Distress inks here...
Lastly this tag uses Distress Embossing Powder in Fired Brick for a sassy a pop of colour! Although I have a lot of new Tim stamps I do still really like this sewing themed set and the dress form always looks great.
I know you see a lot of tags around but I don't actually do that many and with my room in tatters they are the ideal project to just keep you going... and a good reference point for yourself or when teaching workshops...
I'm soooo glad to have my sewing machine back - all plugged in and ready to go. We have really missed each other...
Anyway - onto the giveaway! During the upheavals I have also had a good clear-out... There were bags and bags of absolute junk. How much packaging did I save? And why? I even found a new pair of sport-shoes and a bag of prunes. Both good for the body!
Here are a load of goodies up for grabs. It's quite a random mix. I know...don't ask. If you would like to adopt it, let me know and I will send it off to a new home next week. It needs loving...and I'd rather it be to a WOYWWer than eBay!
Righteo, I'm done for now, time to get desk hopping! Sarah.
P.S. Some folk have asked how I manage to get the no.1 spot. I dunno...just click and link up. I couldn't possibly disclose that I am actually Julia's estranged twin sister, working under-cover for the FBI.
Not sure how you do it every week, but you are first again. I can't type that fast (grin). Love the tag with the heart. It's always good to have a clearout every now and again. Happy WOYWW from #3, which is easy to type, at least.
ReplyDeleteYou always take beautiful photo's & your desk always looks full of wonder, and oh my how awesome are your tags, i'm behind in class so hadn't even seen the latest ones.
ReplyDeleteHappy Woywwing

Ha, ha I don't get why people are so worried about you being nr.1 - it is just a number - well maybe you get more visits that is true but I think it isn't that important! You just seem to be an early ( or late) bird! Anyways to get to the point your tags are lovely - I haven't signed up for TH CC but I might still do!
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs,
Cardarian

Oh am loving the tags, especially the batik inspired one, it still leaves wonderful detail, huh. I don't know how you get to Number one each week either, but being the less-estranged aunt of your baby will more than make me continue to pretend to give you the nod.(!)
ReplyDeleteYour tags are amazing! Each one so different but each one so cool! I love the dressform stamp, might have to get that set. I would love to adopt your stash (me and everyone else!) but who knows, I may be lucky! Thank you for the chance and good luck to everyone too xx
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely things you have on your desk this week - you are clever.
ReplyDeleteCount me for a chance to adopt your stash of goodies.
Jumbleberries xx
Hi Sarah, I'm impressed that you've managed to make these tags despite being in a state of craftroom turmoil, especially as I've just gone through similar and so know what it's like. I discovered an inordinate amount of packaging too - why do we hang on to it, it's not as if there is going to be a world shortage any time soon :) You must have thought you would use the candy contents sometime, they do look good but count me out of the grab ... I've been very lucky recently anyway so don't want to be greedy :)) Belated happy WOYWW, Elizabeth x #145
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful tags!! :)
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh your work is stunning beautiful!
