Back in the olden days, before Blogdom, this mid-week day would pass without a smidgen of furore. But now, thanks to Julia, Wednesday has received almost divine status, the power to oust fair maidens from slumber and has brought new street-cred to many a shambolic desk...
Today, it's more of the usual, lesser of the clean, plenty of dust and AWOL stamps (clean, but still loitering with intent). I'm working really hard to finish DT projects as I'm going to enjoy the rare phenomenon of a Social Saturday as my bloggy, crafty mate Kaz is hopefully coming to Ludlow! Hooray!
The DT job turned out to be a right, old inky mess, so I was très jolie to deviate into my Less is More playtime! This week it's a 'Cut it Out' theme. No, not a crash diet, but a call for apertures in posh card talk!
Hearts, an old French map and my vintage typewriter did the job! Just a little inking around the inside, distressed edges...et c'est fini!
Just one more for fun to use up the die cuts that were flying about. This time the hearts are mounted on card and again edged with ink.
So simple and also versatile. I think this could card be for a lover or family across the miles!
Don't forget, there's just one more week left to join in the ATC challenge at My Mojo Monthly. Do join in! There are seven lovely entries so far and all so different.
Here's my Retro Diva (who is looking slightly more glamorous than I do right now...!)
On that note, I'll say Farewell, a big thank you for calling by and wish you all a very good week, wherever it may take you...Sarah.
These are awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteVery cool cards. So simple yet full of style!! I've been looking for maps at thrift stores and have come up empty.... so far. Maybe I should google maps and print them out?!? Hmmm.

(I'm probably towards the bottom!!)
I absolutely love using maps to mae hearts. Genius!
ReplyDeleteI've found discarded maps in libraries. After they're out of date, they need to recycle them.
Hi Sarah, love maps, have a wee collection that I cling to and may yet be used in crafting, so these cards appeal to me a lot. Those dies are fabulous and so useful too. Have a great week and have a great time on Saturday. Elizabeth x #47
ReplyDeleteLove that card! I may just need to scraplift that idea from you! LOL! It really rocks! The ATC is FAB too! Love the pop of the red! Thanks for sharing. Happy WOYWW- Amanda 36

Hi there. Thanks for sharing your creative space with us nosey parkers today. It's always inspiring to see. Hope you have plenty of creative fun this coming week. Lovely cards, I tend to get carried away so end up with more is more cards rather than less is more; still I will persevere and perhaps one day I'll manage to stop in time!
ReplyDeleteNeil#55
Never managed the less is more, but your cards are fab...love the atc, happy woyww hugs trace x no16
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely the best Valentines card I've seen this year, I adore it. I've got a passion for maps anyway, can sit for ages reading one (I know, weird) but the graphic lends itself so well to the heart shape. Which is odd really because they're not necessarily two thing that you'd put together. Genius....

ReplyDeleteAnd as for your comment "oust fair maidens from slumber ", you're not far wrong. I kind of have to get up around six for work anyway, but I have an extra alarm for Wednesday on my phone, to make sure I get up to add my name to Mr Linky.
Thanks for stopping by and your kind comment....
What a busy desk!
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of your Valentines cards Sarah and the sentiments are so true.
I’ve never got into making ATC’s but I do admire the work that goes into them. Yours is stunning!

Hi Sarah! I wish I kept my old typewriter! Love your glamorous ATC! Too true about how Julia has changed Wednesdays for us! I was in the hospital one Wednesday last year, in the emergency room no less, when I called my sister Peggy to link me up to WOYWW. She laughed and laughed and laughed. "I thought it was serious!" she said. Patsy from
