What's on, under, around, on the side and teetering on the edge of your workdesk Wedenesday?

If you are sensitive to mess, stash and bright pink at dawn, then look away now... Confessions of a Crafty Table and Bloggers unite at the weekly shin-dig known as What's on your workdesk Wednesday? Hosted by Queen Bee Julia over at Stamping Ground, WOYWW? is fun, free, full of both our waffle and loveliness, open to all and the best remedy in town against the mid-week doldrums. From a blank Mojoless desk to the ultimate battle-field, everyone is welcome, so do feel free to hop on board! Plenty of room on this bus...
Well, my desk looks like it has been kidnapped by both Mr. Holtz and Gok Wan. The spread of stash is my latest DT package and the fuchsia tape gun is a B-day pressie from hubby. He ordered it on line and expected one of those mini throwaway things. So he had quite a shock when he realised we are talking military proportions. Still, it looks like a gadget, so he's more impressed with it than any inkpad or stamp...

Despite the lurgy which is still hovering, I seem to be amazingly on schedule with my big projects and design work. So I enjoyed some easy-going crafty time making two cards for Less is More where it's one layer stamping and leaves. I say easy-going but Clean and Simple cards tend to cause the opposite of their name during creation. One smudge or wonky word and you're a gonner.
These are all Wendy Vecchi stamps and the lace is stamped in Ranger Saffron Archival ink which is rather lovely.
I used masking to create a narrower lace border, added a little Distress Ink to the edges for definition and then just over stamped the flower and added a sentiment.
Just showing that Wendy's stamps can be taken down many routes. They're great sets and you don't have to do the Grungy, quirky stuff at all to enjoy them. I just happen to like both (see my previous post!)
I thought I'd also try one all in green which I like too. So that's the low down from my HQ.

Thanks for all the visits, get well and birthday wishes. I had a great day Sunday with hubby and the folks. Fabulous weather, a delicious Roast Dinner and chocolate...simples!
Thanks for calling by, I'm off for a mooch myself. Sarah.

  4. Loving all the stash across your desk and I have to say I agree about the size of the ATG... it is daunting when you first see them but they soon become so essential that the size really doesn't matter!! ;)

  14. I keep thinking a dt would be a fun thing to try for but until the little fella goes to school it is not a realistic time wise thing. Hope that the cooling weather puts paid to the germs. I love my ATG gun(s - yes yes I know, I use 2 different sizes of tape see).

  15. That's quite a haul on your desk Sarah, all those great TH bits, someone has had a good spending session.
Love your one-layer cards but the yellow one has the edge for me. The last minute dot of ink, or fingerprint on a card is a killer - had to do my CAS entry this week three times because of smudges and rogue ink marks.
    Have a good week

  16. yesterday I cleaned my table. And now my husband and the cats took over my space (since it is in the living room, it is technically their space as well) but I still think I shouldn't clean up my space anymore :o)

I love both your cards. I can not choose which I love best. I really love the ton-sur-ton look, but the colours on the other one are so beautiful...

  25. You're right..the simple stuff is definitely the hardest to achieve perfection. It applies to my fabric stuff as well, especially if the print is also quite subdued. Elegant cards though, just right.

  40. Hi Sarah! Thanks for stopping by...

In answer to your question, no, we don't have a copy of the attendance records on computer. The data on them is collated from a combination of holiday, sickness and overtime reeecords, and they get ticks or signatures every month when we run the payroll to confirm what we've either paid or deducted. As I have to keep them for a minimum of three years by law, I had to dig them out of the shredder bin and start the mammoth task of putting them back together! Oops indeed.

Love the clean and simple cards, I rofled at the "military proportions" remark, and wow, what a DT haul!

  49. it is an art/craft thing, 'stash frenzy' we call it: at class yesterday we were heard to cry ' what you have never dipped a whipple in your indian ink???, Dhalink you haven't lived...

so, Sarah, enjoy the items, on, off, side ways or upside down, life, particularly the creative life, is all about trying out the new...especially the big pink new things; they can bring unexpected pleasures....

  52. That's one amazing DT package, but I have to admit to having to Google Gok Wan! I love my ATG but can't find the refills at the mo for love nor money! Lovely card, my own LIM leaves card ended up with one tiny bit that was not single layer, due entirely to a sentiment stamping mishap!
