Dearest All,
The finest, cosiest, most inspirational and healthy greetings for 2011. I have been away from both blog and desk since December the 23rd and it feels like an absolute life-time. Whilst most people worry about gaining ten pounds, I think I gained ten years. I caught the same lurgy as the rest of The World and his Wife and spent most of the hols being rather ill, fed-up and oh so lethargic. Went into over-drive for two days doing "Thou shalt be merry..." and delivered "The Big Lunch" for twelve but the festivities were a short-lived affair which is a right downer as I love Christmas.
Just back from visiting the in-laws in Bruges. My tree was doing it's own striptease act and sadly it was time to re-box all the glittery stuff. Still feeling rough. Ugh! I have actually got a few days off now, which I hoped I could spend as a pig in mud in my craft room. The reality is me just coughing and shuffling around in my slippers, lots of big sighs followed by long gazes of bewilderment at all my arty goodies. Just hoping that the creative tingles will soon return. I was thinking of getting into the loft along with all The Christmas decorations and staying up there a month or two...
That all said, I have managed some fiddling around. Yet more cards, you ask...indeed so. I am planning on taking part in the House of Cards Exhibition at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and Friday is the deadline! It was great fun last year and a good platform for real hand-made art-work.
As said - just starting to find my way again, so got all sorts of ideas going on and just moodling about. Darling, it's what's known as an eclectic style. Was also listening to Monteverdi, Abba, Blondie and Michael Bublé - so there you go.
Pure and simple can also hold it's ground. Punched paper flowers and one stamp on a manilla envelope...
And whilst we are on the subject of simple, I shall just say have a great Wednesday - savour a few moments of joy as you go.
Hoping to do a few desk-hops and be wowed by all you WOYWWers!
Take care,
Sarah.

So hope you are back up to snuff soon - certainly the color in your cards must be cheering you up! They look so happy.

Hopefully you're feeling 100% again soon. What lovely cards!
ReplyDeleteFrom one lurgy sufferer to another, I hope you soon feel a little better. A week of no voice, coughing and sneezing, has already led on to the next stage. Still not much voice, still coughing, but now it hurts everywhere - try swearing an official oath with no voice. Interesting! On the bright side, you do have lots of lovely stuff to work with, so many lovely ink pads and stamps.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you were hit the horrible bug :( I hope you will feel back to yourself very soon! The cards you have created are super fabulous though! I am especially loving the tag card!
ReplyDeletexoxo Karen
Fabulous artwork there - sorry you were ill over Christmas and I hope you had a good time in Bruge (one of my favourite places!). Thanks for sharing. No. 29.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are not well and have been having such a miserable month or so - hopefull, now that we're on our way to Spring you will start to feel better and find your enthusiasm for crafting again. Although your lovely cards tell me you have not been as much of a craft slouch as you think. Take care and get well. Elizabeth #87
ReplyDeleteThe lurgy can't keep your creativity down Sarah, beautiful cards, especially the punched flower one and the second Love card. A truly eclectic bunch!

Oooh your cards are beautiful!! And your desk looks fabulously intruiging with all those goodies on it!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been ill over Christmas - like you and seemingly everyone else in the world, I've had several run ins with the ongoing lurgy too and actually came down with what I thought was a bad head cold the day before going into labour and giving birth to my DD2 on xmas eve (great timing!!) and found out later, because the hospital took swabs because I had a temperature, that I'd actually had swine flu!!
Hope you feel a lot better soon and are able to spend some quality time in your craft room. :)
