Shepherd's Pie and Banana Custard Crafting

Morning Everyone!

Without further ado the uncensored version of my desk...and yes, I do like ink-pads. Today I'm sharing some makes, touches of chaos and many ramblings. Feel free to nose around my space and join in with the peek of the week at Julia's.
Last week I mentioned my Ribbon Rage and as confession is supposedly good for the soul here is a shot of one of my bags. Every night I tidy up, scrub stamps, rinse brushes, and wipe down, even at 2am. Yet this lot continues to rebel...

Today I felt really out of sorts and sought solace amongst the ink. When you're a bit low you often crave your favourite "when I was young food' for that homely feel. Mine is my mum's Shepherd's Pie, followed by Banana Custard!!! Well, today I was in that kind of mood, except it was my crafting tummy wanting some home comfort with a bit of good old card-making. DT project can wait...peer pressure off, I just want to play.

Still like cards, still love vintage, still adore stamping. Imagery, details and composition always get me going... I love so many different styles of crafting yet still hope to put a little of myself in each one! Never followed a sketch before, but I said it was play day! It's inspired by Sketch 190 at Mojo Monday.

I bought a few of these style stamps years ago at a fair in Holland, think they're by Raja in Germany. Sometimes you forget that you have some real gems from way back...

Still enjoying the detail, whether stamped or embossed as I've done here.

And now for something completely different...

Colour therapy for my blog and soul! Really enjoying cutting into my Design papers. The first cut is the deepest - as they say. But as beautiful as papers are, neither they or me are being very creative if they just stay on the shelf. Last week I said you can never have too many layers...

...Add Distressed edges to the list and who knew yellow could be sooooooo much fun!?!
Still got blue fingers from dyeing my ribbon but I'm definitely a fan of Distress Stains...they're not just another new thing. You can do loads of things with them, even just a few colours can spice up your life. This card is joining in with the CASE Study Challenge 38. See - real card talk now, I sound like a veteran.

So that was my play day, onto the DT work tomorrow, but feeling decidedly less out of sorts. Must have been the crafting custard.

Thanks so much for calling by and spending some time here. It's great to see you and also hear from you. I'm off for a swim, be back soon to see what you've been cooking up...
Sarah.

"Celebrate Everything". That's a great thought for every day. Love the tones of the reds, yellows and blues there; you have a fabulous eye for colour. All being well, we're heading over your way tomorrow to stock the pantry...

when I was 14 I got an old american 50's vogue catalogue of dress patterns, I spent three years colouring in on the sepia and brown images and I still find solace in colouring in an image - it soothes my soul...and I am sure it embedded in me a love of the female form and fifties styles....

I love what you do - no doubt - but I love it even more when you do it in COLOUR! fabulous surprise as I scrolled down. As for your ink pads..it's not that you've got too many - it's the way they're all spread out in single layer that made me smile!!

Thanks for visiting my blog, Sarah. Repaying the visit and LOVE what you do!! I've become a follower and will come back when I have more time to browse and linger. I see you love vintage as much as I do, though most of my creations are in my head and stash rather than something I can hold right this moment. Give me time!! I'll share soon I hope!

Ribbons love to get tangled don't they? ha ha I have mine fairly in control (but not quite) I love the food theme although I actually love the shepherds pie my hubby makes with (minced turkey) and a layer of melted cheese try it!

Re your cards I love them both so delish, but I have to say I am also yearning colour at the moment and this bright card really fits the bill and I love the colour combo you have used (I would normally shy away from these papers) Great to meet you and your blog.

Love Dawn xx

A girl after my own heart....I love ink pads too and I have to say that although sometimes it would be nice if ribbon was all organised but there is something delightful about rummaging through a bundle of ribbon, you just never know what you might find!!!

People often ask me how I find time to craft in my busy schedule - I look at them with a really confused look - thats what keeps me sane, don't they know that? I think people who don't know how to just play, die young and very frustrated. Glad your playing improved your mood.
Love those cards. Happy WOYWW
