So a quick shot of my first after baby desk.... We have sorely missed each other and have but waved briefly in the night.
But enough of that. Most importantly, I want to say a VERY, VERY big and heartfelt, enormous thank you to so many of you for the floods of wonderful words, wishes and love... hundreds of you!
I am totally overwhelmed at such friendship, love and care. Thank you to every single one of you!!! Ruby is doing well - still lots of ups and downs for both of us... I swing from total joy and elation to sobs and mini nervous breakdowns every day - I'm at my worst at 4am! But I am still utterly in love with my little lady. She is precious beyond words.
I have received so many cards, but here are three special stars from the realms of WOYWW. From L to R, one beauty from Mrs Dunnit herself, next, my very first birth card, superbly custom created by Annie (Wipso) and then another sweetie from my Dutch friend Franka! Thank you - they all mean so much to me!!!!
So - just time to do a wee bit of tagging around. I was rather rusty and brain-dead so I took inspiration from Mr. Tim's 2012 July tag and gave it my own twist...
Got to vent all these girly emotions somewhere - so why not in abstract ink. I just picked the wildest colours I could find and did whatever my fingers told me to...
Discover yourself...embrace imperfection. Hmmm, I'm doing my best with both of those.
Well, at last the little lady has nodded off to dream land so I am jumping along for the ride too...before the next round begins... Happy desk hopping - see you all soon - well in the odd minute of me time!
Once again - THANK YOU!
Sarah.
Aw, Ruby is absolutely adorable Sarah! Doubt if it helps, but I just bet loads of WOYWWers are gonna jump in today and say they know exactly where you're at right now and that things will settle down.
ReplyDeleteDi xx #5 (also burning the midnight oil, albeit not rocking a baby!)
Oh darlin' you are feeling the emotional swings of post birth hormones. Our thoughts are with you.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a little time to create a great tag.
LOVE all your cards. What lovely WOYWW'ers there are out there.
Judy #9
Awwww Sarah, Ruby is so beautiful. I hope you start to feel back to your old self soon, its a massive change your body is going through and your poor hormones were probably just getting used to having a bambino in your tummy and now she's out in the world.....so your hormones are probably mourning Ruby's quick exit, lol. They'll calm down soon. I hope you are all doing well. I love this tag. I actually think I have that stamp sitting somewhere, I must dig it out. Big hugs, Lee x
ReplyDeleteRuby is just a sweetie. Wait until she decides that she likes the night life. That is just so much fun. Love that tag. And those colors are so vibrant. mine never look like that. #17
ReplyDeletehey, you are doing great! You are blogging with a baby! She is a cutie! Happy woyww Lindsay #18
ReplyDeleteHow amazing that you were able to grab a little time in your crafty space. I'm sure she'll settle down and hopefully you will develop a good routine. Love the little Ladybird, no wonder she's tired, staying up til 4am! Discover Yourself, eh? I think you're about to!

Ruby is looking adorable again! I hope your emotions settle down - I am sure it is entirely normal and once you both get into your routine you will master motherhood like you do your art- perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you've found time to make a tag already! Loads of love, Helen, 12
Congratulations on the safe arrival of Ruby - these first few weeks will be very emotional for you- just go with it! Glad to see you found the energy to still join in and also have a little craft! Have a fabulous week and thanks for sharing. Sunshine Girl - No. 58
ReplyDeleteRuby looks absolutely adorable in her hat and PJ's. I have long since forgotten what it is like to have a brand new baby (mine is 42) but my best advice is to grab sleep when you can (and craft of course), Ruby will hopefully soon develop a routine. You are doing a wonderful job. A x #49
ReplyDeleteOh bless you. Just listen to your body, sleep when Ruby sleeps and enjoy every minute of the roller coaster ride. Life is so very full of it's up's and downs.
ReplyDeleteSending you [and Ruby of course] big hugs,
A x
ps really glad you liked your card. x
What a gorgeous daughter you have! Love your tag, too. Happy WOYWW! Sarah (78)
ReplyDeleteI vividly remember. To achieve anything at this stage is a marvel - you're doing a great job Sarah...it's all about going with the flow, as you've discovered. Has that beautiful baby unlocked a different artist in you I wonder? Time will tell!
ReplyDeleteRuby is mega cute Sarah, she suits red. Hope you are managing to get enough sleep, I don't and my baby is 21! I still sit at my craft desk too late at night. The tag is brilliant, I don't know how you manage to fit it all in. I love reading your posts, you they draw you in. Michelle x
ReplyDeleteGod, she is so sweet :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a little Darling your baby daughter is. Sarah, beleive me ,they grow up so quickly and we all have to go through the awful nights. When Ruby sleeps you have a nap too. I love your tag, the colours are delicious to say the least. Hugs to you both . Rita xxxx
ReplyDeleteAww she's gorgeous! And I'm amazed and impressed that you've managed to get in the craft room at all!
ReplyDeleteAs others have said, the "baby blues" emotions-all-over-the-place thing is entirely normal - there are huge hormonal changes happening in your body right now and it's no surprise it leaves you feeling up and down. It'll pass. And little Ruby will settle too in time. :)
Ali #80
Ruby gets more beautiful by the week so how could you not adore her and just think of those 4:00 am times as your 'together' moments, just the two of you.

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are all doing well, Sarah. Don't worry about the mood swings. They will get better I promise. I remember them well. I was in floods of tears at the thought that I couldn't get my pram into the bank of all places. You are allowed to be totally irrational but just just take your time and enjoy her and don't worry about anything else.
ReplyDeleteGlad you managed to get a bit of crafty time, your tag is gorgeous.
Happy WOYWW
